Course aims & objectives
Course overview:
Our course is based on the UK DfT syllabus, for ground security operatives to learn about the context and requirements within which they will operate. Delivered by experienced instructors that have first-hand experience across the industry, so delegates will leave the courses having a full understanding of legislation and how to effectively implement it into their own aviation entities.
Course Aims:
To ensure that all trained staff understand their role and responsibilities in relation to the security of the Critical Part of the Security Restricted Area (CPSRA), the Security Restricted Area (SRA) and the airport.
To provide ground security operatives operating at an airport with the relevant knowledge and skills to provide effective security in accordance with the relevant legislation.
This course includes the following modules:
Module 1.1 Threat to aviation
Module 1.2 International, national objectives of aviation security and legislation
Module 1.3 Response to security incidents
Module 1.4 Security communications
Module 1.5 Escorting employment and or visitor pass holders
Module 4 Recognition of prohibited articles, firearms, explosives, incendiary devices and dangerous goods
Module 17 Searching and checking of aircraft
Module 18 Protection of aircraft
Module 19 Holding a resolution conversation

PowerPoint Presentations and group discussions
Practical - Demonstration and learner practice with coaching
Interactive Group exercises
Assessment methods:
Assessment under this syllabus must comply with the Ground Security Operative Assessment Strategy, which includes details of classroom training gateway and on the job competency assessments.
This will include:
Question and answer recap session (at the end of each module)
Written assessment with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Practical assessments
