- To ensure that trainees understand what they must do to establish a robust and resilient aviation security culture.
- To ensure the trainees understand the nature of airport supplies.
- To ensure the trainees understand the background to screening of airport supplies.
- To ensure the trainees are able to carry out an effective visual check of airport supplies.
- To ensure the trainees are able to carry out an effective hand search of airport supplies.
- To ensure the trainees are able to effectively screen airport supplies by ETD.
- To ensure trainees are able to operate x-ray equipment to a standard which allows them to detect prohibited articles reliably.
- To ensure that trainees know the concept of threat image projection and are proficient in its use.
- To ensure trainees know the role of the supervisor.
- To ensure the trainees understand their responsibilities for implementing the National Aviation Security Programme at a local level.

Module Descriptions:
Module 1 – The Threat to Aviation
