Course aims & objectives
This Threat Reporting Awareness course provides a clear, practical introduction to recognising, handling, and reporting threats within the aviation environment.
Designed for staff at all levels, from frontline and operational roles to office-based teams and senior management, the course focuses on awareness rather than compliance. As threats can be received by anyone, this training supports a consistent, informed response across the organisation.
Learners will explore why aviation is a frequent target, the different ways threats may be received, and the general actions to take if a threat is encountered. The course also introduces the purpose of threat assessment, explains who is responsible for carrying it out, and outlines what may happen after a threat has been reviewed.
This course does not train learners to assess threats themselves. Instead, it reinforces the importance of remaining calm, preserving information, accurately completing a threat report, and escalating concerns through the correct channels.
By building awareness and confidence, this training helps ensure threats are handled responsibly, consistently, and without unnecessary delay.
